Our focus areas

Why we exist

We actively promote the use of all languages in the ECE field to influence situations, practices, and systems to build a world of pride, justice, and equity. We are committed to building an educational system that affirms varieties of languages* to shape who we are as a nation.

*We refer to varieties of languages to language practices in the home and community that facilitate children’s shaping of identity, learning, and meaning-making, including: dialects, code-switching, verbal and nonverbal means of communication, as well as native languages being revitalized, protected, and promoted in a community.
